Empowering youth against greenwashing

Empowering Youth Against Greenwashing (GoT) co-funded by the European Commission, targets youth workers and young people interested in environmental and sustainability issues.

GoT aims to raise awareness among young people about greenwashing, enhance their greenwashing literacy, reduce the negative impact of greenwashing on climate change and the environment, and promote sustainable habits and preferences.

About Greenwashing

. Greenwashing can lead to misinformed consumers distrusting all other sustainable practices and unwittingly contributing to resource waste and environmental harm, ultimately undermining legitimate eco-friendly brands.

Greenwashing involves the practice of making false or misleading claims about the environmental benefits of a product or service, which is a marketing strategy employed by companies to attract environmentally conscious consumers.

To raise awareness among young people about the concept of greenwashing and its impact on climate change, the environment, and sustainable choices.
To enhance the greenwashing literacy of young people by providing them with innovative educational materials.
To foster the capacity of youth organizations and improve the quality of youth work by developing knowledge, skills, and materials on greenwashing through cross-national cooperation and the exchange of best practices.

Outcomes

The partnership's state-of-the-art research report, which incorporates desk and field research on greenwashing in partner countries.
Development of hands-on educational materials and an online toolkit.
An International Joint Staff Event for Pilot Testing of Educational Materials.
Local workshops and further dissemination activities.
